The Sleep Center
A good night's sleep is vital to a productive day, yet almost half of all adults experience some type of sleep disorder. There are more than 50 sleep disorders that cause difficulty in falling asleep, staying asleep or remaining awake during normal waking hours. While these disorders may lead to high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, the good news is that most sleep disorders are treatable after an accurate diagnosis.
The Sleep Center at Carolinas Medical Center-Union has the technology and expertise to diagnose and treat a variety of adult and pediatric sleep disorders. These include loud snoring, sleep apnea, chronic insomnia, narcolepsy, dependence on sleeping pills, sleep walking, night terrors and nightmares.
Our two-bedroom facility is open for testing six nights a week, Sunday through Friday. All procedures are conducted by appointment only and through the referrals of our sleep physicians.
The Sleep Center is part of Carolinas HealthCare Systems' Carolinas Sleep Services. This affiliation gives us access to a large network of sleep specialists. However, we are the only sleep center in Monroe that works with Monroe-based physicians and that has a staff with specialized credentials in sleep medicine.
