Jesse Helms Nursing Center

Jesse Helms Nursing Center is dedicated to providing high quality, rehabilitative, skilled and intermediate services to the elderly. Residents' care is directed by their private physician, and our close affiliation with Carolinas Medical Center-Union allows easy access to emergency and diagnostic services.

The Jesse Helms Nursing Center enhances the quality of life for our residents through a wide variety of social programs, special activities and outings. Family members and volunteers also assist staff in coordinating and leading activities promoting group and one-on-one activities. To promote a home environment, we encourage family and intergenerational programs, interaction with pets, and gardening.

We offer the following services:

  • Skilled nursing care
  • Rehabilitation services, including physical, occupational and speech therapy
  • Dental Care
  • Pharmacy services
  • Licensed dietitians for nutritional needs
  • Beautician services
  • Laundry services

A full-time social worker at the Jesse Helms Nursing Center assists with the psychological and social need of residents and helps coordinate admissions and discharge plans. This social worker also coordinates physician referrals for residents' dental, eye, hearing and psychological/psychiatric services.

Accredited by the Joint Commission on the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the Jesse Helms Nursing Center also employs a full-time financial specialist to help residents and their families. We accept Medicare, Medicaid and third-party insurance. Each patient is offered an interest-bearing personal Patient Fund Account for access to personal funds. Our financial specialist helps with admissions and billing issues as well.
