Carolinas Medical Center-Union's Home Care provides a wide range of healthcare services in the comfort and privacy of your own home. By providing care in your home, our plan offers the following benefits:

  • A sense of control for you and your family
  • An economical choice in healthcare
  • A faster recovery in some cases
  • An alternative to an extended hospital stay or placement in a nursing home
  • An earlier discharge from the hospital, while still receiving the skilled healthcare services you need.
Our staff is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Services can usually begin within 24 hours of obtaining your doctor's permission, unless you need them to begin sooner. The requirements for obtaining home care are:
  • You must be under a physician's care
  • You must have a medical need for the services provided
  • You must have difficulty leaving home to receive medical care due to handicaps, illness or injury

CMC-Union's Home Care offers the following services: blood pressure checks, wound care and dressing changes, medication instruction, diabetic care, blood and urine collections for lab tests, catheterizations, health education, total parental nutrition, and rehabilitative services.
